4.7M Beneficiaries Receive BISP Unconditional Cash Transfer

Recently the number of beneficiaries who have received the BISP Kafalat Installments in Punjab has been estimated at 4.7 Million and still many women are visiting retail shops for the withdrawal of their payments. The minister assesses the effectiveness of initiatives to reduce poverty, placing a focus on openness and service provision.

4.7M Families In Punjab Receive Rs 13500 

Muhammad Nasir Khalily, Director General of BISP Punjab, revealed that about 4.7 million worthy families in Punjab are receiving financial aid through the Benazir Income Support Programme’s (BISP) Unconditional Cash Transfer (UCT) programme

The Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety made this declaration while visiting the BISP Central Zonal Office in Lahore on a high-level visit.

Positive Outcomes Of BISP Initiatives 

Reviewing the current programs and restating the government’s dedication to openness, responsibility, and effectiveness in service delivery were the goals of the minister’s visit. 

The briefing focused on the benefits of Benazir Taleemi Wazaif, the Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) program, which has contributed to higher rates of school enrollment and retention. 

The program has effectively enrolled 8.2 million children in Punjab since its start, guaranteeing impoverished areas’ ongoing access to education.

Vulnerable Women Get Nutritional Benefits Via Nashonuma Program

The Benazir Nashonuma Program, which attends to the nutritional requirements of newborns and pregnant and lactating women, was another important focus of the visit. This initiative is essential to preventing malnutrition and enhancing the health of disadvantaged groups.

Beneficiaries Complaints Should Be Handled With Urgency

The Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety, Syed Imran Ahmed Shah, stressed the significance of immediately addressing complaints and gave BISP staff instructions to strengthen the complaint resolution processes in all tehsil-level offices.

He emphasized how crucial it is to respond to beneficiaries’ complaints in a timely, considerate, and polite manner. The minister also promoted frequent reporting, the use of digital monitoring tools to monitor the status of grievances, and the stationing of qualified staff at complaint desks in order to ensure openness.

Benazir Hunarmand Program: BISP’s New Launched 

The Minister also emphasized the importance of the Benazir Hunarmand Program and praised the BISP Punjab team’s efforts in providing vital services to families in the province that are at risk.

By giving BISP clients and their kids the technical knowledge they need to support sustainable livelihoods, this program fosters long-term economic independence.

Senior officials, including deputy directors and assistant directors, as well as Director CZO Waqar un Nisa and Director General OM BISP HQ Fawad Nawaz Kiyani attended the visit.
